Can anyone list reasons for ABS lights to come on?

What vehicle?
Could be just about anything in the system. Only way to know is to scan it and find out.
As a start of the list. Bad wiring, failed speed sensor, failed ABS controller, traction control issues. ECM fault. Leaks in the system. low tire pressures.
If it is one of those, look for one at a junk yard. New is expensive.
