Programable Door Locks Won't stay Programmed..

Having troubles already. Every time I program the power door locks they go back to a different setting...

My settting that I want is that the doors Do Not Lock or unlock when you move the shift lever into drive or park..

It holds the setting for a little while then changes back to what it originally was.

The car keeps going back to locking all the doors when shifting into drive and unlocking when you shift into park.

I wonder if something was preset at the factory for fleet use cars?

Damn Electronics !

Thanks again.

Well, Boneheads R Us are open for business.

I think I was grabbing the wrong remote at times I was using the car. Today the door locks didn't lock & unlock. Just noticed the remotes are numbered on the back 1 and 2.

Ah yes. Each remote can have it's own programming. I think many things can be programmed to each remote, even the radio presets (if memory serves me correctly). You're not boneheaded Harryface. These newfangled systems in cars can be confusing. My neighbor and his wife next door have up 2-years ago trying to figure out how things work on their LeSabre. They just accept what ever the car does now. 20 years of VCR's and 97% or people that own them still don't know how to work them. So the answer is to make cars as user friendly as a VCR, it seems! :-)

This reminds me of a letter to the editor of Car & Driver a while back in which a senior citizen was lamenting (bitching) about these new sedans, the genre most seniors would want, but they're so full of all these "gee-whiz" gadgets that are often beyond the understanding of seniors who want things more simple--like the era they're from--not more complex. Many seniors don't even care about or want that stuff in the first place, let alone ever learn how to use it. Aren't happy about having to pay for it either. Some of them won't even use the cruise, for Gawd's sake.
