Re: First Post (a bit long)

Am 40% of the way through building a whipple supercharged v12. Msd injectors, coil packs, wolf 3d, 7:1 compression (using factory pistons, YES they are available) Calculations at this stage put us at around

700-800hp.

Forget the chev, think about it like this, your going to swap an all alloy twin over head cam V12 that will take 1000hp on a factory bottom end for a cast iron truck motor with it's best point being you can fix it shortcomings with aftermarket part. Ha

OK. Yes there have also been attempts by others to modify AJ6 heads to the 12, but the engine must be bored and stroked to around 8-9 litres to the head to be effective. But according to Roger Waters and others the engine is to bulky and too top heavy to be an engine for a sporting car once they but dual cam 4 valve heads on it.

Another minus about using a 12 is that unbored, there is so much metal that the engine takes along time to warm up and cool down, and there is nearly 5-6 gallons of coolant in those beasts.

I am sure it is a good project, but an expensive risk. Good Luck.
