S Type outside air temprature incorrect

Jan 16, 2006 2 Replies

Hi there,

I have a 2004 S type diesel (2.7 twin turbo).

This morning when I started the car the temp gauge told me it was 3°C, of which I beleive this is correct. However after driving a coupld of hundred yards the temperature started to rise... it went up to 20°C...... it is certainly not 20°C in the uk....

I was wondering if the sennsor had become dislodged or something blocking the air over the sensor as the original temperature recorded was correct ???

Any ideas or does anyone know where this sensor is located so I can check it ?

Regards

According to my CD Manual the sensor is located on the power assist cooling bracket near the radiator. Sorry, the illustration doesn't really give me much of an idea where that is. You should be able to see it in that vicinity. A rough approximation would be a sparkplug shaped attachment with a set of wire leads.

Hope this helps.

David
