Yes, it kills that chime as well.
But, think about it, if the lights are on, and the door is closed, the chime doesn't work anyway, it only chimes when the door is opened .and. the key is off .and. the lights are on. Since the vehicle doesn't know the door is open when the fuse is pulled, it won't know to ring the chime.
Real Jeeps don't need a key ...

I pulled my door switch (just the driver side) and cut the wire for the light/key buzzer and wired it to a 3 way switch on my dash. that way I can turn it on and it will beep any time my Jeep is off and the keys are in the ignition or the lights are on. or I can turn it completly off (good for the trail when my keys are always in the Jeep and I am not) or set it to be activated like normal with the door switch.

Can anyone explain how those silly springs work? The pictures I see shows them on the extended plunger (door open, I guess?) and the narative text says push them on, give them a twist and you're good to go.
That leads me to believe I can disable the door switch with a twist, or a push and a twist, which I could do with my existing (and effectivly free) pair of MK-1 pliers.
I don't think I understand what they are supposed to do...
I like the idea of the bypass switch posted elsewhere in this thread.

Or you can pull fuse #4. Interior light will still operate using headlight switch.
