'04 Wranlger AC/Htr Fan Issue

Hello,

I am having a problem with the AC/Heater fan on my '04 Wrangler. It only works in the upper two speed positions. I seem to remember someone had this problem before and it had something to do with a relay or resistor or some such. I couldn't find the older problem searching on Dejanews, so hopefully someone can summarize again what to check for.

Thanks, Ken

Bill,

Do you have a picture for the YJ? It seems I only have heater blower on the high setting now.

Thanks,

Earle

If you find it, let me know. I'm still looking for mine - admittedly, not looking very hard; as long as it works on high, I'm OK with it.

I have a wiring diagram that says this is located "Right Side of I.P." I suppose I'll be taking a closer look soon.

Cheers,

I wish I'd have thought to check this out when I had the dash loose to replace the front speakers...

Well, as it turns out, no need to dig or tear apart anything; I decided to grab a flashlight and take a look based on the diagrams above, and the resistor is one of the most visible components of the heating system aside from the controls:

All this fuss, and it's been right under my nose the whole time. :)

That's it. Thanks. I don't even know if we have Jeep dealers in this part of Colorado. It would cost at least $10.00 to get to one and back, even in the Civic. Price from ChryslerPartsDirect.Com, $2.87. Shipping, TBD.

Ooh, Bill's setting up his Google account in case his other news accounts get nuked. Someone must be seeing the writing on the wall...
