As far as I know the democrats had nothing to do with Bush not showing up for a physical and duty as a member of the air national guard. The official story is excused to work on a political campaign for someone not in the state of texas... The democrats just let loose a phony letter concerning the incident.

Despite the lies and forgeries disseminated by the Demoncrats and their liberal commie media lackeys no evidence of his being AWOL have been demonstrated, and testimony of fellow unit members, supported by medical and dental examination records as well as pay records have been ignored. On the other hand it is well documented in public records and the letter written by mr clinton himself, referenced above, clearly demonstrates his character and general lack of honor.

I can only surmise that mr clinton assumed that his confessional letter would have been lost over the years.
