The CPS is just a two-wire output that would work equally well with the wiring reversed... it is producing an AC signal. Jerry

What type of CPS is used on the 89 Cherokee 4.0L? Something other than

3-wire Hall-Effect (am trying to figure out how engine was able to run with reversed wires)?
