Anyone know what size socket I will need to get the axel nuts off my 93 YJ wrangler? I need to pull the hubs so that I can replace the universals. Did this once about 6 years ago, just cant remember what size the nut was.

Why bother messing around with the axle?
I helped a gent do one last week and we just left the axle in place and pulled the whole works out.
The u-joints can be replaced easily with the axle still bolted to the hub.

I take out the 3 bolts, then turn the tire hard and put the extra bolt in the rear hole and hit it really good with a big hammer.
I have also used a chisel on the ears.

more than likely it will pull the assembly apart than pull the assembly out of the knuckle.
