93 ZJ questions

Hi Folks,

Did anyone know

1, If there is any documented issue of the rear passenger side speaker. The same speaker locations of my 93 ZJs have the symptom of strange (seems vibrating hum start in medium volume) bass sound.
2, How to remove the panel to check if anything that got loose and get in contact with the cone of the speaker,
3, Both ZJs' original cassette/radios were replaced (by another Jeep radio). They have the same symptom. The clock display OK. No light from the equalizer. They can't be turned on by my will ... but by any bump's will. When I hit a bump (small or big), the antenna will come out and the radio will work again.

Other than that, both ZJs Still working really good.

Happy Jeeping

Paul

Speaker could be blown, you have a loose connection, or the plastic grill has gotten loose. I filled the gap (from the backside) with RTV to keep vibrations away.

Take the screws out, pop the door out starting at the bottom. The door is one piece plastic.

Loose connection. Take the six screws out of the center plastic, pull the radio, and check all the connections. (two up top, two in the middle, and two behind the ashtray)
