95 XJ starting problem

Mar 10, 2005 4 Replies

The wife's XJ has experienced hard starting (5-6 cranks before reluctantly firing up) on 2 occasions. Both occasions the Jeep was nose down, nothing radical, just on a slight incline with the front axle about 4 inches lower than the rear..... Any ideas?

Thanks Bill, Are you saying just turn the key and not actually 'cranking' the engine? If the check valve is bad would this be more prevalent in a 'nose down' situation?

thanks paul
