Anyone still have a link to that snapped tow strap through the window?

I am trying to remember where I saw the photo of the snatch strap with the metal hook that went back through the gents Jeep.

Anyone have a link to it?

Why is the left front tire ON the strap?

If you read the story you will see the ring came from the back and out the front....

It was. From the link... "This is a reconstructed photo."

Well, it did say reconstructed scene. But no mention of that, just how it came to a stop. Perhaps they were accurate, just was odd.

The photo was for sure staged or 'reconstructed', it even says so.

The guy went and put the strap back in for the photo. He got hauled away out cold to hospital when it happened.

I have also seen those long square military straps. They are strange but the folks swear by them.

So, are they saying don't use straps, or don't use hooks, or don't pull friends out at all? n.

It is an add for a winch....

They also point out why not to have any metal on your straps! Get ones with sewn loops.

And to watch what is going on and where you are anchoring to!

I've got welded on rings, is it acceptable to attach with a big shackle?

Yes, as long as the shackle and rings out rate the strap for breaking point.
