CJ7 Automatic 727 Radiator Issues

Can anyone tell me if all radiators for 258's have the automatic transmission cooler? I just installed A/C and now I'm having a little bit of a heating problem. Big Surprise.... Anyway I'm going over my options which seem to be getting a shroud, or finding a 3 core radiator?

Since the A/C was installed the fan was moved forward about 1" and I'm wondering if the larger radiator sticks any further forward or backward than the original? Either might be aproblem since there is limited spacing between the condenser and the existing radiator, as well as the fan.

I see 3 core radiators online but they don't specificaly say they have the AutoTrans cooler.

Where can I get a shroud that will fit a center cap radiator with an automatic transmission cooler?

I've seen shrouds online for around $80, but I would just as soon spend $200 on a better radiator as $80 on a piece of plastic that is always in the way if you know what I mean.

The tank on the top of the radiators is all the same, 2- or 3- or 4-core. The number of cores is changed but the top tanks is the same, so any nearby obstruction that misses the current radiator should still miss the new radiator with the added cores.

The bottom tank is the one that supports the cooler for the auto trans. the bottom tank with nipples for the auto trans lines will work fine in a manual trans application, but obviously the tanks with out the nipples will not work when there is an auto trans to deal with. That said, you can always go out and get a dedicated radiator for the auto trans.

When you order your radiator, simply specify that you need one for an automatic trans, and you will get one with the nipples on the bottom tank.

We have and 89YJ and the radiator has NO AT cooler inside, instead ours has a line the goes infront of the grill between the two front rails and has a 2" wide by ~25" long plate that it attaches to, the plate attaches to the frame rails. The line has fins on it for cooling. I like this setup better than having to deal with hooking up AT's to the radiator.

I just got my 727-equipped Scrambler running, and i used a new 4-core radiator. It has the AT tank on the bottom, but i bypassed it and used a huge B&M cooler in front of the radiator. The 727 seems to be running a little warm so i will probably run the lines in series with the radiator, as recommended.
