Dana 35 weight?

Anyone know what the D 35 weights? Daughter's YJ only has a 2.5 L 4 cyl in it, I have a chance to get a D 44 front and D 60 rear for free for her, but I just wonder about adding that much weight, D 60 is approx. 264 pounds. As much as I would like to put them on my CJ, I would be doing a lot of cutting to get it down to my narrow track. And besides, she had her's first, and the

35 has to go.

The 44 & 60 (same combination I have on my '94 YJ 4.0L) are going to be very noticeable behind the 4 banger. Not only will it have to deal with significantly more weight, but the internal resistance of the 60 will definitively be a performance drain on highway. If all it's going to do is low speed, off roading, then it's probably going to be fine, but on road performance will suffer significantly. (Might want to rethink putting them on the CJ!)

It's more weight then that, the D 60 is 264, ford 9" is 194, and 8.8 is

170, so stepping down like that, I would expect the D 60 to be double the wweight of the D 35.

Its way too much weight. You should probably dump that Dana 44 and Dana 60 on my driveway. ;)

When I swapped out my 35, I had no one available the day I reinstalled it. Had to carry it by myself about 15 feet, I'd estimate 150 pounds max - this was without brake drums or hardware Tookie - Denham Springs, LA
