I just had to do that to my rear brake bulbs and have one front signal that needs it. Intermittent flashing.

The new pigtails I installed when I did my frame up build have smaller contacts than a stock one I think, or just plain vibration got to the solder pads on the bulbs, don't know.

Meanwhile your 'fix' works great!

I sort of wonder why they use solder for the bulb contact. I mean it works but the melting point is a bit low. Guess it's the cheapest method available. :/
