I have a 2002 TJ with 5.5" of lift and Im ready to go to 35's. Only problem is that I have dana 30 and dana 35 with factory 3:07's. Its hard on 33's, and just would not cut it with 35's.
So, my big question is.... Can/should I attempt this ring and pinion install on my own? I have done all other mods to my Jeep on my own with out any real problems. Are there any special tools that are needed?
It will save me about $600 in labor cost. But, $600 in savings may cost me more if I fubar the install and explode an axle.
Any suggestions would be great. Also, who makes the best 4:56 gears?
Thanks, David
