I bought a rusted-out jalopy in 1989 for $700. I proceeded to put an interiorin it and buy some fenders & rocker panels from JC Whitney and had a guy paintit and leave off the woodgrain trim down the sides. I put chrome spokes on it.That thing has provided me and my family with not only fun and adventure, butis great for commuting in the snow. It's got 175K on it, and is need of acarburetor rebuild (I have a kit and may install it this weekend.) but can goplaces that many a CJ owner doubts. Although it's starting to rust again onthe front valance and at the top of the tailgate, it still works great.It has been used for Guys Nite Out, as we can smoke cigars in it. My wifewould never allow that in her '98 GC 5.9 Limited. I have this sentimentalattachment to it that won't allow me to sell and upgrade to something morepractical and fuel efficient, like a Cherokee. Hmm. Guess I'll have it for awhile.....Here's a pic: Horsepower is cheaper than therapy.
