I just bought a 1995 YJ Rio Grande. Does anyone know how much a windshield costs. I am in Canada. thanks for your help

Where I live they will come to your place of work, get your keys, and replace the windshield in the parking lot. I had one done several years ago, and it was about $200, real money. Make sure to tell them you are paying cash. They charge the insurance companies double.

That's what I paid for the most recent windshield in my Cherokee, however as your windshield is flat glass it should be cheaper.

Not quite.

Great idea!

You leave first, and all the others will just naturally follow their leader, The Pied Pooper, off into oblivion.....

You're lying again, Sweets, not very xtian of you at all.....

Here in Michigan I found a place in the yellow pages that did it for$165. They even came to me. I was pleased . Has yet to fall out. Try to call a few diffrent places . There prices are all diffrent. One placed wanted $250 . So it pay's to shop around.

You need to shop around because the prices on glass vary radically!

Be sure to mention a cash deal, it makes at least a 50% price difference and if it doesn't, keep shopping.

The quality of the replacement glass also varies radically. I don't know how you can verify good glass though. Maybe by the thickness?

That's what I thought, but the Suburban I had done at the same time cost like $69.

Right now I have a vertical crack just about in the middle, that's been there more than a year. I am scared if I get a new windshield, I will get a stone bruise in it the same week.

Earle

If your luck is anything like mine you will :(

Tell me about it, got a new one in the Cherokee and it got a silver dollar sized smash with cracks on the first trip with it a week later. The 'fix it' place did their magic on that mash star and it has held for

6 years or so. Meanwhile the other small dings have spread so we need a new one. Got a new Jeep instead to put on the road.

S*it, 3 different places quoted me $200-$225. That is CDN funds equal to about $180-$200 USD so it is higher than I thought. Seems high for a small pc of flat glass. A massive curved w/s for my wife's minivan cost her only $230 ! It's almost as if it is $200 or thereabouts regardless of the windshield ! P.S. I am originally from Texas :-)
