KJ shipping time

Is this the only Jeep ng?

Anybody that has a KJ (do they build any of the others in Toledo?), how long did it take from "ship date" to "arrival date"?

I'm very impatiently waiting here in Mississippi... Day 12 post-ship date and still no hope in sight. :(

Talked to the dealer in Detroit yesterday (I won the Jeep and it was ordered by a guy in Detroit, to be shipped to the dealer here where I live in Mississippi). He said "well, it's still not there yet." I felt like saying, well hell - I knew that already... but refrained myself.

Kicking myself in the a$$ wishing I'd asked him for the VIN # (he didn't give it to me before when I asked, but I was going to BS and tell him I needed it to get my insurance paperwork rolling or something) so I could call Jeep myself and find out maybe more about the whole rail deal.

There are numerous Jeep ng's. Too many to mention. Here are a few that specialize in KJ's or similar sized models. Found using a simple yahoo search. There are a few libby owners here, but not too many.

The only one that counts!! :) Actually, there is a somewhat less active alt.jeep-l and probably some more..do a search. You might catch some flak in here for owning a KJ, but just let it run off your back.

You don't have to BS him about anything. You've ordered the vehicle, get the VIN number from your sales dept. You can track your order by calling the number on Jeep.com. It's actually pretty cool of them.

Thanks for the input folks.

I didn't want to pester the dealer in Detroit too much because I'm actually not his paying him anything... I won the Jeep, so of course someone is paying for it, but certainly not me.

I've wanted a Jeep since I was in high school, so I'm actually excited to be getting it. I've actually always wanted a Wrangler (what's the letter abbrev for those?) but now that I have 2 kids the KJ seems a little more practical. I don't let the hard-core jeepers anti-Liberty-ism bother me LOL

I just can't believe I actually won it! Much nicer than the POS car I have now, so I'm keeping it! :)

Oh by the way, it's SHE not HE. :)

YJ - square headlights from 87 - 95 or 96 (something like that) TJ - round headlights, from 96 or 97 to present

It sounds like you'll enjoy the vehicle. Nothing is quite as nice as something free or won.

Just make sure you take it out and get it dirty once in a while. It's good for em'.

You couldn't resist it could you bill ;-) I was thinking the same thing, but managed to choke back any soccer mom references.

Note to manna: nothing personal is meant by that... it's just a long standing argument in this forum that the Liberty is only driven by soccer moms... and it's not a "real jeep". Don't take offense its a running argument that will never end......

It's okay, takes a helluva lot more than that to offend me. :D

Yeah, so maybe I'm contributing to the Liberty-stereotype... but it's not like I went out and BOUGHT the thing with the intention of only using it as a grocery getter/hauling around kids. :)

We like to get out and camp, take the boat to the river, etc so it'll be lots fo fun for that - and I'm grateful for it, since I'm in a position where I certainly couldn't afford to buy a truck/SUV. (my last car was a Hyundai if that tells you anything about my budget... ack!)

So as not to be sacriligious, I'll try and take it out to play in the mud sometime! I'm fully willing to admit I don't yet get the whole "jeep thing," so don't be TOO hard on me! LOL

Sounds like you'll get a lot of good use out of it. I love my Cherokee (especially for camping), I'm taking it up hunting this weekend. I'll probably be taking it on some trails that a stock cherokee has no business being on, but it should make it just fine. I would take my CJ but the power steering is leaking and therfore on the fritz.

Jeep thing explained: spending too much money + too much time + banged up knuckles + major frustration = Pure joy It doesn't seem to add up, but somehow it works out.

Sounds kind of like parenting! LOL

Thanks again guys... I drove by the local dealer on my lunch break and it's HERE! Now just the wait while it's serviced and the paperwork gets in order!

I don't know how I'm going to get ANY work done this afternoon, I'm just WAY too excited right now! :)

Good for you. Enjoy the free Jeep.

How come I never win free cars?

It's the satisfaction of finishing the project yourself and the contentment in knowing that once the Jeep is finished the next "project" will springing up long before you start wondering what to do next...
