And its a pretty good one. I went the first year (98) and plan to go back either this year or next. Not sure if I will do that one this year or the Rocky Mountain House Jam...

I haven't been to the island yet... I'm saving that for my next trip but I do have some input on mainland attractions. You may want to preserve a day or two for the mainland at the beginning or end of your trip so you don't have to take the ferry an extra round trip... it's very expensive with a vehicle.

A tour around Stanley Park.. you can drive or if you're really energetic you can walk it with trails - free entry

Grouse Mountain overlooks the city - 15 minutes from downtown. Check out the website for all the activities. Here is a very valuable tip: If you make reservations in advance for the Observatory Restaurant, your admission and cable ride is free. Admission for 2 Adults and your son would be $60 without dinner reservations. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, an extraordinary menu with an unforgettable view. My wife and I still talk about it! Whistler Village - 2 hours north of Vancouver. This isn't just a ski hill... it's all about the village. Pay for parking - free entry. This is a year round attraction with fine dining and shopping throughout the village or just sit at the base with a Starbucks OR Tim Hortons and watch skiers or mountain bikers come down the hill! A stroke of brilliance to incorporate mountain biking into the former "off season"... we went in July and the village was packed, not a snowflake in sight. The chair lifts take four bikes up and the riders follow in the next chair. It's quite a sight to see and endless stream of riders appear from the clouds... you find yourself picking one rider and watching him all the way down... hoping of course for a cool wipe out while you have your camera ready. Cougar Mountain - 20 minutes north of Whistler near Pembroke (IIRC) - prices vary. This is an activity centre on 15000 acres of leased land that provides tours... Hummers, horseback, ATV's, fishing etc. My brother in law and I rented ATV's and had the time of our lives! We had some special treatment because it was a slow day (drizzle) and it was just the two of us and a guide and he stretched our tour from 3 hours to nearly 4.5 hours. The drizzle made for some incredible challenges on the technical terrain. We were both experienced riders and the guide disabled the governors for us. This made for some extremely exciting flat out runs (80-90 km/h) just yards from a 500 foot drop off. We also got off the regular trail for some uncharted exploration... the guide was having as much fun as we were. About half way through the ride we stopped for a break. The guide said he was getting ready to pack it in for the day when we arrived and wasn't looking forward to getting wet (again) but took us out anyway. The fact that we were able to keep up to anything he threw at us made it a lot more fun for him and that he was really enjoying the run. We paid about $100 each for the trip and I would have paid double that if I knew what an experience we were in for. I'll be going back for sure. They allow passengers over 7 and riders must be at least 16. No drivers licence required. Rainsuits, boots, helmet, goggles and gloves are supplied. They use 4 wheel drive Yamaha Kodiak

400's.. very easy to ride, automatic transmission.

Oh come on, go this year, just bought our tickets yesterday, July 30, 31 and August 1st. $190.00 Can. per person, 7 meals and T shirt included, And jeep 101 is included for any who want it.

I may...before I comit to anything I gotta go test those new long arms out!! I suspect that I/we will go to Pentiction simply because its is so much closer. With doing RMH and the Rubicon this year I would end up pretty tight on vacation time. I'll know for sure later this month. =)

Hey, does Canada JJ have any regs on lift hights? Do you know if its still held up on the mountain at the ski lift?

Don't forget a drive out to Hope. they filmed Rambo there....you can get your picture taken with your head sticking out of one of those wooden Rambo placards.

Great offroading all through there and Harrison hot springs isn't far off from there.
