The header is IN.

Yes.. it is IN! (does the little happy dance)

For a few hours there I was beating my head trying to figure out what to do and why this f... fine piece of hardware wouldn't fit.

So what to do.

A: take out the BFH

..ok..

Well, what do you know, it sorta fits. Just too tight by about 1/16".

As fate would have it, I have a perfect solution to that problem in the form of my angle grinder. (no, I didn't grind the header) :) I took a close look at the motor mount. Beefy sucker, about 1/4" thick and with a substantial cross section so it's not going to miss a little moon shaped section. ..grind.. ..grind.. test fit. (explicative) ..grind..

Finally! I left it about 3/32" clearance, hope that's enough to prevent noise. Shouldn't expand any that direction anyway and that part of the mount doesn't move.

Got the intake rail back on and most of the plumbing. Gonna finish it up tomorrow and then test it.

Here's a clue. Unless you actually want to there isn't a reason to take the rail off. But if you do, fit the injectors to the rail first then press the whole thing into the header. Good ol spit makes a great o-ring lube. (ok, I see you laughing back there, that's not what I meant)

Will say one thing, it's hard getting to the bolts with the stock exhaust manifold, but it's a freeging bear to get at the bolts with the new one. Had to hand torque one bolt, couldn't even get a socket on it.

It's a Jeep thing, and I'm starting to understand.

You mean that's not the way it came from the factory? ;-) God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

L.W. (ßill) Hughes III did pass the time by typing:

Why yes, I believe it did come that way. :)

Being it's a 93 I'm not terribly worried about warranties anymore. All it has to do is hold togheter for about another year or two when the 2004 WJs start coming back from lease. Or maby the hemi if I can get over the odd front end and lack of proper gauges like oil pressure and battery.

nice work! that little bit u took off shouldn't hurt anything...you could even take a little more...
