200 TDi exhaust system

My 200 TDi Automatic 94 L plate Discovery has a bulge with mesh over it in the first horizontal section of exhaust pipe. Is this a CAT, or am I correct in saying, that no 200 TDi's have CATS.

I think that's the flexible link between the exhaust manifold down pipe and the rest of the exhaust. I don't think UK specs have a cat.
