ACE and Spring Conversion

IIRC ACE works by (effectively) having active anti-roll bars rather than the more commonplace lumps of spring steel that lesser motors make do with. Provided the ride height on the steel springs is the same and the attachment points for the ACE arms are in the same place, I imagine it'll work.

A thought occurred about HID headlamps, on vehicles thus equipped: I think the regs call for these only to be fitted to self-levelling vehicles, which is a point to consider if you're bothered about such things.

As far as I can work out, the ACE is a separate system from the SLS, with no integration between the two. The ACE appears to be a standalone setup taking it's inputs from 2 motion sensors within the vehicle, and inputs for "low-box" selection and "rough-road". The SLS function is controlled by the SLABS ECU (Self Levelling and ABS). I see no reason why you can't simply remove the rear airbags and replace with coils, using the appropriate bracketry as required. The rear shocks are a different part number also, presumably the damping rates are different for SLS equipped vehicles. Having towed many miles with SLS, I'd personally fix what you have and keep the SLS - it's a fantastic system. Badger.
