Can anyone tell me if the CV joints for an 1989 RR that one can buy from the likes of Paddocks at approx £60 each are any use. I have been told that they are very soft and I should avoid them.

I'd be interested too - from the sounds of it, I'm going to have to change on in the 110 front axle before long. 56-quid-odd is a good price, but only if they're reasonable quality.

My local LR agent quoted me prices for the CV joints that were roughly
4 time (yes I did say 4 times) the cost of the Paddocks replacements. (about £225 per CV +VAT)In fact, with the exception of the one-shot grease and a few seals, all prices for genuine LR parts were between 3 and 4 times the price of non-genuine replacements.
The bill from Taunton LR would have been somewhere near £1300, whereas my bill from Paddocks was about £300.
Basically you pays your money and takes your choice.
