Disco 1 Diff Guard - Salisbury units?

Please forgive this newbie type question but I'm looking at underbody protection for my 300tdi Disco 1 and whilst browsing diff guards some aren't suitable for Salisbury units...............

What exactly is the Salisbury unit and how is it different / better, and am I likely to have one?

I'm just looking at the bolt-on units at the moment as I'm not sure how much the balance is going to be between off-roading / greenlaning at the moment.

Thanks,

Gavin.

The term Sailsbury refers to very strong diffs fitted to the rear axle of 109 & 110 vehicles (and front and rear of 101's an other non- mainstream LR's). You have Rover diffs on your Discovery (unless someones been messing).

Plenty of peolpe manage a life-times laning/trialling/messing about with ever feeling the need to fit one, they are in no way a nesessity (on a Land Rover).
