I've currently got an A Bar on my Disco 1, which I think might be a factory fitted one but I've not round any markings to confirm that.
Anyway now that I'm using it 'properly' I've been looking at getting a steering guard that will fit with me A bar and was wondering if anyone could recommend any as I don't want to get one and find it's a case of one or the other ?

I agree, I've wanted to remove them for ages but my rather short wife likes them !
Luckily on our trip out the other week she caused the damage seen on the photo, and I managed to make a matching pair this weekend, so phase 1 of my plan to remove them is now completed, although it would be easier if she'd just let me unbolt them !

Personally, I'd do away with the A-bar ... from your pics it's bendy (in a recovery situation) anyway so is pretty much useless ... ;)
... and yes ... front recovery rope previously *solidly* attached is a great idea when trying to go through deep mud ... ;)
I was thinking that would have been a good idea at the time, especially as that mud stank !
Mind you, it wasn't my arm...................... ;-)
