Hi All.
Had a strange one which ended up with the disco on the back of an AA truck today.
I pulled in to a lay-by having driven about 300 miles, as I pulled away again (after a couple of minutes behind a tree), I got half way on to the road and ground to a halt. Attempting to move forward or back in high or low range resulted in a stall, it was as if the handbrake was very firmly applied.
Oh dear me, I thought. R380 gearbox at 106k miles has seized. But after about 20 minutes, and once it had been pushed back on to the lay-by, I was able to drive it and when it came off the lorry it was drivable, no strange noises but now I'm nervous about taking it out for a long drive.
SO, is this the gearbox failing, brakes, transmission brake or what?
Cheers,
Chas
