Disco headlights fitting options (LHD) - beamends?

Does anyone know which headlights I can fit to the 300 Disco - do Td5 ones fit? I need to get a pair of LHD ones to get it through the CT (MOT) to register it here. If I can fit Td5 ones then I'd like to as I assume they are better than the older ones (are they?!)

I guess they are probably sealed units on the Disco? so no chance of just changing the lens.

Beamends - can you get hold of LHD headlights? How much for a pair?

Cheers,

Matt

Matthew,

Don't fret about the CT until the UK MOT has run out, and don't fret about registration even then! I ran the V8 on British plates for two years, and for one of those it had a French CT.

Have you contacted LR France for the Homologation form? I've got the number if you want it.

No I haven't yet, so number would be good - can you remember how much it was? I was going to hand over all the documents to our local garage who does the whole registration thing for 50 euros, but if it is fairly easy to get the certificate, then I'll do that and might even go to the prefecture and try to muddle through the process myself. Nothing can be more complicated than getting the business registered here!!

I want to get it registered so I don't have to pay road-tax in the UK, plus it gives you a bit more anonymity, and less staring!

Cheers,

Matt

It is a bit over ?112 for the homologation papers for a 110, don't know if it is the same for a Disco. Once you have that, plus the CT, you just go and queue up at the prefecture and pay the money - complete no-brainer.

As regards the Tax, I just told DVLA that I had exported the vehicle and had no intention of returning on the same plates, and I didn't pay. Still ran it on the UK plates here for a year afterwards - of course, if you are returning to blighty on UK plates and no tax, they'll get you. I agree about the stares though. What really freaks people (apart from the fact that it's a 110...) is that it is UK registered but LHD!

Is yours a RHD vehicle?

They can be made to fit - but not just bolt-on.

No such luck!

Certainly can:

STC1235 Headlamp - RH - LHD - Carello - Discovery I from MA081992 STC1236 Headlamp - LH - LHD - Carello - Discovery I from MA081992

£38.77 each inc VAT

They should appear on the site after this evening/nights update.

Thanks Richard. What's your current position regarding deliveries? (to France) and now much?! I light also want another couple of bits - spare belts, set of those protective plastic seat covers etc.! I'll have a trawl on the website later, off out now to clean out/polish up the Espace!

Thanks for that, will give him a call next week.

I'll give it a go! Do you know if you can go to the sous-prefecture, or do I have to go to the main one?

Problem is that we are likely to do that occasionally.

LOL!

Yeah, couldn't afford a LHD version unfortunately, they are just silly money for anything half-decent.

should explain - two headlights is 3.4kg (say 4 with packing), so you've got some headroom!

British No.3 is very good for Espace's ;-)

I think it's the main one only - but you aren't that from Poitiers are you?

No, it's just that I know where the sous prefecture in Montmorillon is as I had to go there for part of the business stuff, and I"d rather go there than get lost in Poitiers! Going to M/m on Wednesday anyway, so maybe I will pop in and ask.
