Despite trying to keep in tune with the latest problems news etc, I have just had to have an upgrade to my 1998 110 CSW 300 Tdi alarm system.
Problem : intermitent non disarming of the immobiliser, reset when it felt like it, got worse. Funny the alarm disarmed but not the immobiliser, had LR Assistance to see it/ changed ig barrel coil/ changed starter motor ( sticking !! ). Finally found out that a problem exists with these vehicles and the im system.
Solution : 2 suggested
- upgrade the spider with a new circuit board and separate fob for the immobiliser ( circuit fitted & 2 fobs & 1 master fob ) £ 280
- someone posted a discussion group archive showing a way of soldering the circuit board and repairing the system,( AN 6530 thanks for that I have listed the url again)
