Discovery Question

Hi, A friend of mine has just moved to NZ and is considering buying a Discovery, he asks the following questions which I'm sure the wealth of knowledge out there can answer. I'm not sure if he's considering TDi / TD5 or V8, but as he's taken 2 Porsche 928s with him, it'll probably be the v8! Here goes.

Do they have Air Suspension ? from what year, do you know ? Also do you know when/if they changed from the standard RR Classic electronics to the troublesome BECM electronics like they have on the p38a RR (from about

1995?)

Thanks in anticipation.

Discovey TD5

TDIs didn't have air suspension. Some Disco IIs do - all the seven seaters, plus it was an option on the five seaters. So this means it is fitted on some vehicles from 1999. However, the Disco only ever has air suspension on the back, never the front.

The more complex electronics (which are not as complicated or failure-prone as the P38) also come in with the Disco II in 1999, although the 300TDI is a little more complex than the 200TDI.
