Hallo lezers, ik ben al geruime tijd eigenaar van een series II en ik heb onlangs ontdekt dat ik geen spatje olie meer in de achteras heb. Hier zou versnellingsbakolie in moeten. Maar hoe krijg ik daar nu olie in......? ik heb wel gezien dat ik de olie kan afvoeren via de onderkant (uiteraard) van de as.

Assuming that my understanding of what Babelfish has translated for me is correct - there's a large hexagonal brass bung on the top of the side webs on the diff head itself, not in the housing.
To find it, look at the diff from the propshaft end, reach up with your left hand to the side of the diff head and feel around for the bung.

First for our english readers. The problem was: not being able to find the rear diff. fill plug on a Series II LR. Answer from EMB: On top of the front of the housing seen from the prop shaft (Front) Is this correct?
Dutch: Hallo Dakota, Zoals ik zijn antwoord begrepen heb moet je onder de wagen kruipen en vind je boven op het differentieel, vanaf de kant van de aandrijfas gezien, een 6 kantige koperen schroef plug. Je moet het even op de tast doen want het schijnt inderdaad niet duidelijk te zien te zijn. Hij heeft het over "side webs". Wat dat is begrijp ik ook niet. Zou kunnen dat de plug niet exact in het midden zit. Misschien gooit hij dit relaas ook nog even in zijn vertaal programma en komen er nog aanvullingen. Succes, Erik-Jan.

S3 LWB could be rover or Salisbury, ISTR.
HBOL has the Rover type one with the filler/level plug on the front offside (RHS) of the diff housing, above one of the stiffening webs and pointing mostly-upwards. This type of diff has a solid casing and a ring of bolts around the front side holding the diff in.
The Salisbury one has a removable cover on the back of the axle and the filler/level plug in the cover, facing backwards.
It is probably the Rover type since he can't find it easily. Thanks anyway for this info. Kind regards, Erik-Jan.
