EFi Fuel System

My good lady drives a gas-converted V8i Discovery. The petrol pump died recently and having had a good look at the pipe unions they're very rusted and siezed where they connect to the pump.

I don't want to force them in case they snap off but...

...Is it okay to remove the screw-together connections there and replace then with a short length of flexible petrol hose? Jubilee clipped, of course.

Assuming it was steel braided petrol hose it oughtn't to swell under the pressure, should it?

Anyone got any views on it?

Cheers Gary
