Poorly Clutch - Discovery V8i

Sep 07, 2003 3 Replies

The wife's V8i (LPG) Discovery has got a poorly clutch. There is very little resistance at the pedal and the bite point is almost on the floor. I understand it has a self-adjusting mechanism.

Any suggestions where to start looking? There's no sign of any fluid loss and the clutch itself was replaced last summer when a recon. gearbox was fitted.

Pretty common problem and a very good place to start looking I think.

When I had a new clutch on my previous Discovery the garage changed the release lever even though it didn't look like it needed it on the basis that doing it then was easier than having to do it in 6 months time.

They're coming to pick it up this afternoon and have a look anyway. Will let you all know what the outcome is.
