Apologies in advance if this is a FAQ (please don't shout).
The engine in my 1988 90 TD breathed its last on Sunday, the turbo is knackered and I suspect as it died it threw its components into the air manifold and onwards into the head / valve gear.
It had been breathing and smoking badly for some time and I shall take it out and shoot it.
I have been offered a 200 Tdi engine to replace it and was just wondering what the implications were, I understand that the mountings and gearbox attachements are the same and that the radiator will need changed and an intercooler added. I'm guessing that there will be some electrical changes too.
Basically - is it worth doing, and how much hair will I have pulled out by the end of it?
Thanks.
Simon
