I have a Garret turbocharger on fleabay BIN with a 'make offer' option.
It came from my 2005 FFRR Vogue diesel but will fit cars from 2002-2005 (BMW engine)
Here's the story:
While in my home in Greece this summer the car developed a noise that sounded like I was being chased by the police (the sound of a siren).
I took the car to a Land Rover dealership who diagnosed a faulty Turbo. Due to the high cost of parts in Greece I had a replacement Garret turbo sent from the UK to the Greek dealer who installed it and all was well. I kept the faulty turbo for inspection when I returned to the UK.
On my return I took the turbocharger to a turbo specialist company for a fault diagnosis. Imagine my surprise when they told me that the turbo was in excellent condition apart from a normal amount of soot etc. and in their opinion the siren noise was probably caused by a leaky hose which was cured when the new turbo was fitted.
Anyway I instructed the company to strip and re-build the turbo which they undertook.
