FAN removal - 200Tdi

Hi all, Happy New Year.

I have been told that if i remove the fan on my 200Tdi I will notice a considerable gain in fuel economy and a bit more power.

I live and drive in the UK, any thoughts as to the viability of this - how does the 200Tdi cope in UK summers - does it need a fan, i have also been told that the only reason LR fitted fans on the 200 and

300Tdi's was for the overseas markets.

I do 50/50 offroad/onroad and in the summer tow a jet-ski.

If i remove the fan should i also install an electric one (thinking of scrap yard types rather than overpriced Kenlowe) and connect to a thermostat?

any thoughts...

Thanks Jon

You will need to have an electric fan if you remove the standard one. It would be too easy to cause damage to the engine through overheating if the engine got too hot. Jon
