Fitting a tilt

Hi

I'm converting a hard-top landy to full canvas top. I have the tilt, I have the sticks, I have a box full of nuts, bolts, brackets, and other bits and pieces, but what I don't have is a set of instructions.

Most of it seems relatively straightforward, but there are a few bits here and there that look less than obvious. Does anyone know know where I can get a set of instructions for this or who makes the sticks (OEM I believe) so that I can get the instructions from them?

Cheers.

This one comes up every now and then and I can't remember anyone finding a set of instructions...

However, the 'sticks' you can probably work out easy enough. You should also have a bar that goes along the top of the screen, some 'frame' type arrangement to go over and behind the doors - which bolts to the screen-top bar with a small triangular brace about 3 inches in size.

Remember that you'll need some other bits to attach the ropes and straps to on the body.

Your best bet is to get hold of a scan of the relevent pages from a parts catalogue which has an exploded view of all the parts in the right place. The owners manuals aren't particlarly helpful on this. Also, is it a Series or Defender cos there are fundamental differences around the windscreen and doors.

Agree with that, but probably the easiest is to find someone local, if you can, who can show/tell what is needed. - So where are you? JD

Hi Dan, I know Exmoor Trim in UK sell sticks so they may have instructions-call them on 01984 635060. Ask for Caroline.

Alternatively here is a link showing the various fittings that the Australian army use. The pictures may help you.
