fun with wings

well, decided to have a go at the bent front wing today, Messrs. Paddock having kindly supplied replacement parts.

amazingly, it all came apart, not one sheared bolt anywhere. Transferred all the little plastic screw-fitting things to the new inner wing/front panel unit, then attached it, with some swearing, having first spent some time "adjusting" the bent wheel arch bit to make it line up again, and also drilling the new wing panel for the radio aerial and suchlike. Amazing, considering that all thet hold it on (without the outer wing panel) is about half a dozen bolts, how secure it is.

Outer wing not drilled for the side repeater indicator, buggrem. Still, I suppose they fitted about 27 different kinds, all requiring different holes, during the period that "early" ones were produced. Oddly, the replacement wing matches the one the other side, whereas the one I've taken off doesn't (apart from being bent), so I tend to assume that one may have been replaced before.

outer wing to go on tomorrow.
