Hi all
as it's that time of year when we begin wondering why we drive these draughty sheds, I have had a go at sorting my heater out.
Sure enough it was the classic 'dump valve blocked with mud inside the wing' syndrome. After cleaning the drain plug out and thoroughly drying the fan out via the wingtop vent and a handy 1400w hairdryer, I proceeded to liberally blast with TT spray (WD40 type stuff) and free the fan off with my hand.
I then changed the blown fuse in the cab, crossed everything and switched on the fan. Bingo.
After running for a few minutes, hey presto, a heater, two speed fan and demisting capability I could have done with yesterday in the rain!
Total cost of repair, one fuse FOC from friendly garage I use and about an hour of time, most of which waiting for engine to heat up for testing purposes!
I know this subject is an old chestnut, but thought this might be helpful for those beginning their first Landy woning winter.
