L322 Range Rover brake Conversion (Brembo)

I am looking at upgrading the braking system on my 02 plate Range Rover. I would like to fit the 4 pot Brembo Calipers which are fitted to the later

06-07 vehicles. Just wanted to know if anyone has done this conversion and whether there is anything else they needed to modify?

Regards

Brian,

You will need *at least* 19" rims to clear the Brembo's. There are pictures on my site -

formatting link
in the galleries showing how close a 19" rim gets to the calipers....20" is the recommended fitment. Also, the pads for the brembo's are *&*^&% expensive ...... ask me how I know

Hopefully I should have enough room to fit them in then as I am running

22"s, And I have been informed today that the later Brembo Calipers that are fitted to the sport and Supercharged models are a direct bolt on replacement.

and make sure you notify the insurers...

even if it's a standard RR part. I was looking at this for upgrading the

110 brakes to vented discs, and someone mentioned that someone else had fallen foul of doing this mod to a disco and the insurance wouldn't pay up, 'cos it was modified.

You might want an engineer's report too that the uprated brakes are safe.

Lucky with that one I have a traders policy which covers me for all sorts of things... As they are fully aware of the type of work we do here they cover all modifications (stated or not)
