I've recently become the happy owner of an ex-National Trust Land Rover, in generally excellent condition. I've been pointed at a good garage in the Cambridgeshire (more or less!) area for routine servicing by a friend and they did indeed do a good job, but I want a couple of more "interesting" things looking into - notably, a good thorough check on the whole transmission system and possibly a new A-frame ball joint.
For work like this, I want to take the vehicle to somewhere that either specialises in Land Rovers, or at least has very good knowledge about them. There's always Marshalls in Cambridge, but I've heard bad things about how long it takes them to get spares and I imagine they're none too cheap either. All in all, a place that likes to take your vehicle on a brief road test rather than simply shining a lamp on the underside and sighing heavily would be a good start ;-)
Can anybody please recommend such a place in or near the Cambridge region?
