Landrover 2.5 Diesel engines

Not sure if this is of use to anyone here - Witham's have a number of 2.5 diesel engines in next auction link below Lot 687 onwards.

Arse - at that price I'd have made Stig a diesel and not sent 2 grand to Turner Engineering :(

Also some 9 x 16's right at the bottom which might interest 101 owners.

What are these? The nearest one in the photo looks like an indirect injection turbo diesel. However, they don't look to be new. Perhaps they are totally shagged ones?

I expect they're spares. The British army have a penchant for having lots of stuff around. Further down the list, for example: 4 off Coventry climax engined water pumps, new unissued. I don't think the army used the 2.5 turbo, though, I thought they were all NAD up 'til the start of the TDi.

I never said there was a full set! Yep, just those three, but for those missing spares (or building a 6x6) it could be handy :)

3 tyres for a 6x6?

Wouldn't it end up leaning to one side slightly?

Not if you arrange them in a triangle formation, two on one side, one on the other.

No I have not tried this ;-)

If you put 2 on one side and the third on the middle axle on the other side it might work! :)
