New rear door

Spraying the hinges and door lock in readiness for fitting to new rear door to my D90.

One thing I've noticed is there appear to be no drain holes in the box sectional frame to the door. I very much doubt the painters managed to get paint inside the section, so it must be bare metal. Rust just waiting to happen?

Is there any reason why I should not drill a couple of holes at each bottom corner and waxoyl? Or, possibly better still, run some POR15 into a hole and slowly rock it from side to side? Or any other suggestions?
