mmmmmmmmmmmmm - the division bell has just rung!
Total brilliance- got to keep the loonies on the path.

PF are the best unless you drive a 101, they are mad as a a cut snake!
I cried when they did "Great gig in the sky"
I saw it in 197X at Trentham Gardens and cried then.
Where is Clare Torry?

I went to see The Killers at Manchester Apollo a few weeks ago & that was the best one i have ever been to.
A few of my past master concerts
1987 - Joshua Tree tour live at Wembley 1987 - The Pogues at Leeds Uni 1994 - Oasis - Maine Road 1994 - REM - Huddersfield StadiumI have been to l,oads of concerts/gigs, but they are the stand out ones. The Pogues was the best untill the Killers, the Pogues was fecking mental!!
Now the question is do I go and buy a DVD copy of "Live at Pompeii"

yes, I sat down to watch it while we waited for everyone to get back from the pub having just watched the band who played at our wedding. Saw the first 10 minutes and ended up missing the rest.....

There was a series on all-time great albums recently, naturally including DSotM. There was an interview with her in it, in which she said she was asked to 'do something' for the end of side one, or something like that. She was very modest about it.
Amazing.
Although CT didn't sing on last night's recording, I thought the two girls who did managed to get the mood rather well.

Congrats Simon (and Mrs Simon too). Isn't he a lovely wee chap.
A damned fine concert indeed - one of the few concerts I have been to in the UK.
Indeed it was, I was only a kid really & me & a mate went down to London for the concert. I fought my way right to the front. Never forget when the first chords of 'Where the streets have no name' started, it went utterly mental from then on!!
I saw them play here a few weeks ago (not too bad either), and the next night I sat on One Tree Hill and listened to them play the song.
Fuck! My favourite tune of all time too matey, it was written about a NZ chap I believe? Greg Carroll or summat?
I have never seen them do that one live, seen 'em 9 times too!

yeah, not bad. better than the useless b**** they had in venice, who tried to do to the same as on the album and wasn't up to it. not the same quality of "non-vocal" type noise and missed the top note horribly, due to be unable to sing that high. Not her fault that she couldn't hit the note, mind, just her fault for trying and failing; it's quite high and I daresay quite a number of singers couldn't hit it.
I recall a comment made by a PF-fan friend at the time, just afterwards, when we were discussing it, apparently he heard it and said "I'll kill her".
ISTR an interview with CT too, describing that bit and that she tried to make it sound not like singing but more like a musical instrument.
Apparently they will only perform it at Auckland concerts - maybe you'll have to follow them here next time they play.
Any day of the week matey, any day. One place in my 'to visit' box, did Japan 18 months ago & that was fookin' amazing.
You'll want at least 6 weeks to even think about having a decent look round, and probably a couple of trips after that to go back and look at the places you missed.
