"Out performs the Defender off-road"...eh?
Even if it was a lemon [which its not, lorry DNA] it would *still* be more reliable than that PommyShit [Indian?]
Outperforming a L/R off-road is NO big ask, the L/R fails to get there in the first place!!
Bwaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
Also a bit early to be describing the drivetrain as bullet-proof! Not sure about the leaf springs being the best for axle articulation either.. Still, by journalist standards, not bad, managed to count the number of wheels correctly.
Iveco are also selling it into the military market, the Massif version though, I posted some links to it a month or so back, it looks pretty much identical to a Defender.

lol
odd isn't it that properly maintained LR products do exactly what it says on the tin day in day out ...
but then again it;s like the muppets who dismiss other products as soft roaders becasue they don't have the skill to drive the vehicle effectively

Interesting to a point until I read... " window-closed driving and a door latch that doesn't rip the seat out of your trousers every time you clamber in" and realised the writer really does know his Defenders. :-)
On or around Mon, 09 Feb 2009 23:17:50 +0100, Matt M enlightened us thusly:
"what we have here is effectively an old leaf-sprung Land Rover tarted up by the only man on the planet apart from James May who clearly still considers Bakelite to be a pretty neat idea."
I like the man's style.
