P38 gremlins

Got a message on the dash today, 'fuel gauge fault', and at the same time the gauge dropped to zero and the light came on.

Is there any common fault that causes this? I am guessing its the tank sender?

Also got an 'alarm fault' message, from what I have read on the net, this is usually caused by the ultrasonic doobrey in the roof lining playing up, anyone got one of these for sale?

thanks SJ

it says fuel gauge fault then it probably is the fuel gauge not the sender.

well worth the cost of having it plugged in to find out exactly which it is.

As for the "alarm fault", it's almost certainly the sensor above the seatbelt holder / pivot thing on the B pillar. I think they're about

80-100quid normally. Breakers are usually the best bet to get them cheaper
