Range-Rover P38 Nokia HSE-6XA carphone

Jan 20, 2006 2 Replies

Hi all!

I've recently taken on a P38 Rangie HSE which has the above NOKIA HSE-6XA carphone system installed. Does anybody out there have experience of this carphone system??? and if so any pro's and cons of keeping and retaining it??? As it appears that it would be pretty good if I could get it working (instead of using a mobile & bluetooth based system).

The display on the phone is currently showing that it needs a SIM card.....which of course I could buy one easily enough......but I can't work out where the SIM card would be inserted - as there is no where evident on the handset it's self, nor the cradle, where you might do this. Has anybody any ideas????

It will have a base unit, usually put under a bit of trim in the boot.

Cheers Nige!

Found it! There is indeed a base unit (black box) to go with the carphone. It's fitted under the glovebox.....I couldn't have been looking hard enough!!!! Just need get a SIM for it now then.
