LRP is OK in this engine. It will run perfectly well on unleaded, although the ignition timing may need retarding slightly. If used long term on unleaded and especially with sustained high speed driving, the exhaust valve seats will eventually wear excessively as these are formed in the cast iron of the cylinder head and rely on the lead in the petrol for lubrication. When this happens you will need to have steel valve seats fitted, or you can anticipate the problem of getting it done ahead of time. As you apparently live in the UK, exchange modified cylinder heads are readily available and not particularly expensive. JD
