Relay Pins

Hi People,

Does any body happen to know which way round the pins on a standard relay go - namely pins 85 and 86 - are they sensitive to polarity?

I know that if you put one (say positive) in pin 30 you get positive out of

87a and 87 (if relay activated with 85 & 86)

Im guessing that 85 is positive from ignition and 86 goes to earth? So that when you turn the dash switch on the relay activates pins 30 and 87 for high power.

Also I understand that if no power to relay then 30 and 87a connect?

Thanks

Roger

Hi Rog, think you have good your understanding spot on! I tend to always wire terminal 85 as the control positive but either way and your relay will work.
