rust

ikb uttered summat worrerz funny about:

Baulkhead, footwells and chassis, particularly the rear cross member.

Some replace the screws with stainless steel ones on E-Bay.

Hinges themselves will be fine, it's the screws and it'll be a thin rust that leaves streaks.

Not true. The wiper blades don't rust, they merely rot :)

Haven't been able to get a new pair of flat blades for my S11 for years, the curvy ones don't last long at all. Think the ones I'm using now are 10+ years old, but then it doesn't often rain here!

Have you got the part numbers? PRC1330 and 575437 are the later ones, but if you want the older numbers in case someone has NOS I can give them to you.

the 'F' on the end is a Britpart code, PRC1330 will get you the cantilever type from a main agent.

The 'F' on the end means pattern part or non-genuine crap, depends if you want them to last for another few years. PRC1330 will get you the flat ones as I said, the cantilever spring type is RTC3894.

When I escape from the godforsaken swampy bit of back country (the only good think about it is that ADSL is available) I'm currently working in and get home again I'll make a few calls for you - I'm fairly certain I can still get them. And it's rained here pretty much continuously for the 3 days I've been here (200mm of rain in that time).

Nope - F means "flat". PRC1330 is the cantilever type. RTC3894 superceeds to PRC1330. This is one of the very rare occasions where LR got it wrong and introduced a new part with an old number. Main dealers have a work-around so the right type is supplied.
